I was delighted to hear from Rachel today that XXX Homes have agreed to undertake all the brickwork ‘faults’ raised in your survey of my home.

As you know numerous internal snagging faults were also listed in the survey. XXX Homes have now completed the vast majority of them and the house looks much better for it. A few items I chose to leave to be dealt with myself in due course!

I feel I must place on record how very pleased I have been with Inspector Home and the service you offer residents of new houses. As you are aware, I was so concerned about the attention to detail in my new property, that I felt obliged to enlist the service of a 'snagging' inspector.

Bryn Thomas arrived at the agreed time and was a true professional. He was firm yet polite when dealing with the men on site. They obviously respected the fact that he was also a qualified builder. He identified 102 faults and some of these were quite significant. I still feel aggrieved that this should have been necessary but it was definitely money well spent.

As a result of Bryn's visit, the builders have agreed to replace items and rectify faults which I feel sure would not have otherwise been forthcoming. I am still waiting for some of the work to be completed but feel much more confident that this will happen now. I also know that you will be at hand to liaise with the developers in a positive manner should problems arise.”

I just wanted to say thanks for your help resolving the issues on my personal property.

All the works are now complete and the developer can not do enough to help me and no longer argue with me.

I have worked for Taywood Homes and Bryant Homes and many other house builders over the past 15 years and used to defend them and the industry and I still believe there is a huge skills shortage that does affect quality BUT, this is not an excuse to dismiss client's issues with the properties they buy.

House builders spend more time, effort and money trying to avoid these issues and problems and would surely be more cost effective to rectify those legitimate claims.

I therefore fully support your campaign to make changes to purchaser's rights and to bring them in line with other consumer rights.

I will be introducing further units to you that will require snagging and will continue with the recommendations.
