Booking Your Inspection
Inspector Home aim to make the snagging process as smooth and straightforward as possible for you, – you can book on-line and we will contact you to confirm the inspection details or you can call us at Head Office during normal office hours. Bookings must be paid for in advance and payment can be made by Credit Card, Cheque or cash.
As soon as you have been given your completion date, we can arrange the inspection for you if you wish – the sooner we get in to check your home the better, as it means that there is more time for your developer to correct the defects before you complete. If you have already completed on your home you have up to 2 years to get a list of defects to your developer – our advice is to do this sooner rather than later or you could be blamed for wear & tear and end up paying for many defects you could have had repaired free of charge.
Inspections
Our inspectors have 10 - 40 years experience in checking new homes and are constantly checked by Stephen Nancarrow our MD for the quality of their work.
Our Inspector will greet you on site or if you are not able to attend they will collect the keys from site on your behalf. You are welcome to accompany our inspectors during their site visits although we do ask that they are given time to complete their reports un-distracted. Most inspections will take between 1 – 4 hours according to the size of property and the number of defects found.
If you have your own list of defects that you have already compiled, please discuss this with the inspector on-site who will be happy to address your concerns. We will also be happy to liaise with the Site Manager or site representative on the day of inspection if they are available.
Service Levels
We now have 3 different service levels to suit your requirements:
Bronze A Report only service that includes your inspection plus a copy of the report sent to yourself and your developer. You can then follow up the report directly with your developer.
Silver Includes your inspection & report plus advice from our After Care Team for the duration of your 2 year warranty period.
Gold Includes your inspection & report plus our After Care services and a re-inspection of remedial works.
Reports
Your report will be sent by e-mail within 2 working days from the day of inspection. Serious defects will be brought to your attention on site so that we can discuss the situation and advise you on how to proceed with your developer. The standard of finish will be checked according to current NHBC / Zurich guidelines.
After Care Service
Once your inspection has taken place you can use our unrivalled After Care service to help you whilst your remedial works are outstanding. Our support team are here to take your calls Monday – Friday 9 – 5 and will either provide you with advice on how to proceed with your claim or contact the developer for you if necessary to assist.
This service includes all necessary calls & letters / faxes to your developer and warranty provider free of charge until your home is finished to standard.
