Main Problems

Mr & Mrs MacTaggart have had problems with their roof tiles blowing off, floor dampness, cracks in the wall to the garage along with many other minor defects since moving into their property. No speedy assistance was given by the developer therefore Mr & Mrs MacTaggart contacted Inspector Home to assist in getting the defects addressed.

When Inspector Home attended the property we found a large number of defects, with some worrying problems regarding the garage and damp.

Our Customer Service Team contacted the developer and made sure each defect was addressed and rectified correctly. Because of the involvement of Inspector Home in ensuring the works were addressed, the developer has now carried out the repairs to the property.

Mr & Mrs Mc Taggart have made the following comments:

"We called Inspector Home in after 8 months following a continuous catalogue of defects since we moved in. Our reasons for calling Inspector Home were because we were unhappy with the findings of a Structural Engineer employed by the developer concerning the cracking of breeze block bricks to the internal wall of our integral garage. Inspector Home ensured that a proper inspection of the area was carried out and it was found that the RSJ supporting the upper level of the house had been incorrectly placed on the concrete pads meant to support it. Inspector Home also realised that the safety of our family was being compromised due to the garage ceiling being incorrectly finished and therefore rendered not fire proof. These were not the only areas highlighted, in fact 112 defects were found, but since Inspector Home took on our case almost all of the defects have been rectified. We have also found that new problems which have come to light since the survey, have been dealt with far more quickly and efficiently by the developer. We cannot say we are truly happy in our new home because of the nightmare we have been through, but the help, support and assistance given to us by Inspector Home has at least ensured that defects have been correctly addressed and hopefully we can start to begin to enjoy what should have been our dream home."
